Weekly Review
January 17th, 2000
The Invisible
Disabilities Advocate is not only a Web site, but a person as well. This site which
does a wonderful job of uncovering the pain and suffering many people who have
invisible illnesses go through, breaks ground in its unique, humanitarian
content. I can agree that it can be difficult to feel compassion for someone who claims to
be ill when there is no obvious look of pain or physical limitation. But after reading
many of the letters from suffers and some of the great content, I have a much clearer
understanding of what these people go through. Inside you will find pamphlets, booklets, a
message board, and tons more. This site is easy to navigate, has great content, and
although not a venue for medical or legal advice, does a great service to the
invisible community. There are far worse ways to spend your time on the net.
Drop in and see what I mean.

"Ida,
I just received a link to your site, and spent a lot of time browsing
and doing some in-depth reading. I'm very impressed! I think that
anybody with a chronic illness would find a wealth of information on
your site. Thank you. I have multiple sclerosis, and am the author of Women
Living With Multiple Sclerosis (Hunter House, 1999). A sequel
to that book will be published in September. I'd like to include your
website in the resources section of that book, if that's acceptable to
you. Congratulations on a great job!"
