2010 Perseverance Award – Ed Hearn CSP

ed-hearnEd Hearn is the 2010 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association Perseverance Honors Award. Ed was chosen based upon his amazing perseverance and inspiration as he lives each day with three life threatening illnesses. Ed has chosen to use the curves life has thrown him to encourage those around him each day.

Former Professional Baseball Player, Speaker and Author of Conquering Life’s Curves. Ed Hearn’s very promising baseball career came to a sudden halt with a shoulder injury. Less than 6 months later, he was diagnosed with three potentially life threatening health conditions, followed by three kidney transplants! Ed understands what it is like to be at the top, only to lose it all due to health. He also is the founder of The Bottom of the Ninth, a Kansas nonprofit corporation dedicated to the mission of rebuilding the spirit and character of this nation.
